• Streamline setup: Procurement, licensing and deployment of the operating system and application software is provided
• Automated monitoring and management: Installation and configuration of Savvis Intelligent Agent enables management of the critical infrastructure including complete operating system management, release management, monitoring, event management, and data collection.
• Robust web portal: Offers the customer a powerful tool to manage all aspects of the service
• Network bandwidth: 1 Mbps Internet bandwidth network service with additional bandwidth available based on usage
• Ongoing support: Change, configuration, problem management and replacement of defective or failed hardware
• Release management: Coordinated proactive service pack and patch implementations
• Availability and redundancy: Hosting services availability of 98.5% [one Intelligent Hosting server] and 99.9% for redundant configurations and includes nightly data backup

Technical Specifications

• Robust customer web portal offers a powerful tool to manage all aspects of the service, from system performance to capacity planning, including system health tracking, application metrics monitoring (Microsoft IIS / Red Hat Apache HTTP Server), trend analysis, server and bandwidth utilization and support ticket tracking
• SAVVIS supplies, installs and configures a hardened version of the operating system on all managed servers
• Customers approve patch or service pack upgrades that may impact their applications, before they are added to their servers
• Operating Systems available Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Versions 5 & 6 and Microsoft Windows, Standard Server Edition 2003 & 2008, Enterprise Server Edition 2003 & 2008 R2/SP1, 32 & 64 bit for 2003 and 64 bit Only for 2008
• Savvis provides system, hardware, and operating system management for all managed servers
• For servers running Microsoft Windows operating systems, customer can have administration level access. For customers running Linux operating systems, privileges will be set by Savvis system engineering
• Service includes procurement of software licenses, deployment of software, setup and configuration, monitoring, and management
• Utilizes third-party anti-virus software in conjunction with centralized management tools to maintain AV policy control and regular signature file updates
• Three monitor credits are included with each Intelligent Hosting server; these checks use the public Internet for a network path, just like customers’ traffic
  • TCP Port check and Ping tests query the server to ensure the server responds and cost 1 credit; If the host does not respond, an alarm is created
  • URL Monitors interact with web servers to check if a host responds correctly and cost 2 credits ; If the host does not respond correctly or not respond at all, an alarm is created
• Nightly Data Backup (250GB)with additional capacity available based on usage
