Leveraging Savvis network infrastructure and denial of service capabilities, this flexible service monitors network traffic, identifies and re-routes threats and allows legitimate transactions to be processed. With Network DDoS Protection, you can cost-effectively respond to rapidly changing risks and protect against future threats. You pay a monthly subscription fee and only pays a premium during an attack.

Features
The service provides managed Network-Based DDoS mitigation with 24/7 response to DDoS attacks. Mitigation (filtering) of traffic begins only after you request your traffic be placed into protect mode in response to a suspected attack. Critical requests are reviewed within fifteen (15) minutes and, if required, will place customer’s traffic into protect mode. Other details include:
- DDoS mitigation engine: Uses best-in-class network visibility and analysis capabilities
- Initial set-up consultation: End-customer meeting to establish the mitigation alert policy, determine the appropriate response procedure and define the customer’s zones, method of diversion and delivery.
- 48-hour provisioning: Once the end-customer has provided all required information, the service is provisioned and tuned, typically over a 48-hour period, and any required initial policies are applied.
- Change parameters/countermeasures on the fly: During attack, parameters can be changed and countermeasures enabled/disabled to match the characteristics of the attack at hand.
- Detection and Mitigation support for Savvis Internet Customers (AS3561)
- Mitigation support only for Non-Savvis Network customers (non-AS3561)
Technical Specifications
- Up to 10Gbps DDoS mitigation
- Protects against TCP SYN Authentication, HTTP SYN Authentication, invalid packet filtering, TCP Connection Reset, and Zombie Detection with the ability to adapt defensive measures when the attack changes
- Mitigation engine uses NetFlow to analyze and identify anomalies
